Disability Insurance

Disability Insurance is an important part of your financial foundation.  If you’re injured or become ill and cannot work, or must reduce your work schedule, this coverage will help you continue to live in your home, purchase the necessities of life and help you maintain your dignity while you recover.

Most of us who work for a living and pay taxes enjoy the protection of  Social Security benefits,  which are available for those who are severely disabled.  Benefits generally begin after a year of disability.  In California, we enjoy the State Disability Insurance program, providing short term benefits.  But these plans only offer partial coverage and have monthly benefit limits insufficient to handle monthly obligations for the majority of workers.

Disability plans are available for individuals and groups of employees which will improve your coverage — extending to a higher percentage or dollar amount,  offering coverage if you’re only partially (not totally) disabled,  allow professionals to insure the inability to perform the duties of their specific occupation or specialty, etc.  Benefits may last for 5 years, to age 65, or until your Social Security Normal Retirement Age (SSNRA) and can be adjusted to keep up with inflation.

Please contact our office for a comparison of rates and benefits for you or your employees.  We’ll need your age, occupation, and average earnings for the past 3 years.  For a group quote, we’ll need a listing of all employees, their ages, gender, occupation and earnings.  Contact us below and we’ll help you gather the correct data as efficiently as possible.  You may also want to check out the interactive calculator to see where you stand now.
